She describes how she took over the running of the farm from her father at the age of 24 in 1986 and made the decision to run it on an organic basis.Helen discusses her reasons for working with organic methods. How she was repulsed by standing pig and poultry methods, and how she began to develop humane systems that would also be commercially viable. She speaks about the challenges involved, the labour intensity of the work, and what she believes can be a more harmonious future for agriculture.
